[SCA-AE] Pennsic Children's Water Battle cancelled

Greetings,

I am Taranach McLeod also one of the members of House Shadowclans who
are the sponsors of the Childrens Water Battle.

Rest assured that the Youth "issues" have nothing to do with the
decision, it is purely a staffing and economic issue.

The resources that were being referred to are several dozen Adults,
both inside and out of the castle, to make sure everyone remains safe
and to man the walls against the invading horde, and several hundred
bags of "treasure" for the kids once they ultimately 'win' the battle.
As Baron Johann mentioned, the economy has hit everyone hard and our
ranks at Pennsic have diminished to the point where it is not feasible
for the Shadowclans to run it this year. Even with Very low cost
"trinkets & booty" the treasure alone can cost several hundred dollars
and some of the members who *can* make it to Pennsic are going far
more minimal than in years past.

I understand the reasoning behind the cancellation and regret that it
had to be made this late in the game, but unless We can muster a
Herculean effort to get volunteers and get together some kind of
treasure for the kids, I am afraid it would be better to wait until
next year when it can be done right.

I really wish I could do more to preserve this icon of Pennsic for
this year but I/we would need a LOT of help. As Baron Johann said,
