The only who will be enforcing the new rule is you as the
parent--that's been made clear. And you could have made and enforced
that rule for your minor child yourself.
>I would rather know that an adult is with my minor child that is of my
>choosing than for something to happen and my child be scared with all the
>Lady Giovanna Antonia da Napoli
>This is a choice that you can make without there being a rule. Children
>over the age of twelve are *allowed* to roam Pennsic without parents, not
>*required*. Parents choose whether or not their child/ren over the age of
>twelve is/are prepared for the responsibility. If your child needs more
>supervision, then it is your responsibility to ensure that this increased
>supervision happens. What has been created is an unenforceable rule that
>neither augments the ability of teachers to eject students, nor increases
>the safety of the environment.
>What I find the most interesting about all of this is that, according to
>the kinds of rules that were made for this year, the Pennsic staff
>considers ideas to be more dangerous than combat.
