a brief comment on consequences.

if, as maghnus commented, the board required wearing our underwear on the
outside some would.  but many would simply not attend pennsic.  in addition,
a significant number of scadians would consider opting out of the society
entirely.  we may be re-creating medieval life but i believe we do not need
nor desire to re-create the arbitrary and tyrannical dictates of a ruling
elite.  we're here to learn, play and share.

also, the board has been anxiously seeking ways to retain and grow
membership.  how many of our youth will we retain if they are taught they
can't be taught without a nanny to hover over them?
