With one lapse of about a year, since 1976

A few

Join as in begin playing? I was an out-or-work teacher looking for some fun. Paying money? It was inexpensive ($10/year comes to mind) & it got me the newsletter.

Involved? This has become my "second life" if you will. Met my wife, raised my daughters, met most of my very good friends, in the SCA. Stayed a paying member? I enjoy supporting the SCA & being an officer. This generally requires being a paid member. If it did not, I'd probably still pay b/c I think it's the right thing to do.
The questionnaire would be way too long to hold my attention, though, especially after a day of working primarily at a computer.
