We had excellent process documentation created by a woman who occupied
the position for 20 years. When she finally retired the first thing
her replacement did was throw the documentation out.
Nice to be prepared, but people coming into a job tend to change the
position--put their own stamp on it. Unless it is something you aren't
coming back from (don't ever push the big red button or the reactor
will explode) people and organizations adapt and survive.
