Remember that the $250K goes not just for office staff payroll, but all of the paid positions in the SCA.
I haven't looked at the actual budget, however, the last time I did, Renee and the office staff had paychecks that were well BELOW the average pay for the area.
The budget for salaries has only gone up 69,000 in 10 years !!
That covers the budget for all of the corporate paid positions.
I couldn't find the data to back it up at the moment but I believe that there are 4 people working (and being paid) in the main corporate office, plus there is the treasurer, and I believe that there may be 1 other paid position.
So $250K broken down to 6 people... that's an average of around $41,600 a year per person. It is my understanding that the CEO position gets a larger salary than that (if it is in fact still a paid position... I don't recall)
For those who live in rural PA areas, think of it this way....
Renee makes enough money from the SCA to live in the equivalent of a 1000 sq foot 2 bedroom, 1 bath home in PA. with no property.
She takes phone calls all day long from irritated, and peeved off SCAdians who want to know
"Where's my membership card?"
"Where's my insurance for this event?"
"Why hasn't my check cleared?"
Now, think about your job, your home, your family.
Do you have a roof over your head?
Do you have food on the table?
Do you think that Renee deserves the same basic rights to live as you do?
If you answered yes...
Then stop complaining about the miracle workers in the corporate office that make SCA Inc work so that we can have fun.
Stepping down off the "I'm an ass and I know it" box.
