[SCA-AE] making cords

Greetings from Myfanwy!
No offense, but when I read this my first response was "Ewww!"
I don't even use Fraycheck on fabric (even cross stitch fabric) any more --
instead I always hem the fabric edges). The concept of putting some sort of
nasty chemical onto fiber (even stuff as annoying to work with as Marlitt) makes
me really twitchy.
No, it's just easier in the long run to use a non-slithery fiber (i.e., not rayon).
It's the same concept of not using satin ribbon for lacing for stuff like shirts and
chemises -- it doesn't stay tied either (grosgrain or velvet ribbon works much
better).
