The NMS is only charged on full price admission. Any discount, even 50
cents, makes the person not have to pay the NMS. That's why I push for a
price break for teenagers.

Subject: [SCA-AE] Side question on non-member surcharge
Greetings,
I was rather surprised at a recent event when my friend was intially asked
for the $3 nonmember surcharge for her nine-month-old son.
I believe this was merely confusion on the part of the well-meaning
volunteer at the tollner table as to why a baby would not need a blue
card -- the SCA.org website says that a family membership is for one adult
and "any minor children 21 and under residing at their address" -- and the
volunteer decided not to demand the surchage once my friend politely
questioned the practice.
However, this is making me wonder...
Has anyone else heard of a new policy to charge for infants or use the
non-member surcharge in this way?
Katja
