I will be there!

There is NO practice tonight so come this weekend to beat up....ah....practice on the other members of the populace.

I heard some great things about the barony's fighters at war. I want to see these great fighters myself. Show off your skills to the people. Remember, this demo is to show what we do. Think of the people watching not as just spectators. Although they are not members of the SCA, they are of the Rhydderich Hael. They are of AEthelmearc!

Subject: [SCA-AE] Demo at the Amherst Museum on Aug. 21st--Buffalo NY

If anyone can make it out, it would be much appreciated.

There will be a big Demo at the Amherst Museum on Aug. 21st. Not only

will our participation help the Museum, but it will help our very own

Master Conner Bowsplitter; who is organizing the event for the Museum.

We will need as many people to help out as we did for the Brass Ring

Thing.

We will need Fighters, Fencers, Throwers and A&S people of all
skills.

What's so important about this Demo? Well, it's the 396th anniversary

of the death of Countess Elizabeth Bathory. But aside from that, this

event is a major fund raiser for the museum and the Amherst

powers-that-be are talking about cutting the museum's budget. This

might be the last Scottish Festival the museum holds.

What do you get for volunteering? All of the sun you can stand; all of

the gatoraid you can stomach; a FREE pass to the Scottish Festival;

all of the fish-n-chips and birdies you can afford; music by Penny

Whiskey, Celtic Circle Ceilidh Band, Stone Row, Harpbeat, Hobson's

Choice, Carol Farrar, Step in Time, Sons of the Gaels and Mary
Lester;

an auction; border collies and more bagpipes than you can shake a

stick at.

Lady Biotta has offered to sponsor prizes for three tourneys: one each

for heavy, rapier and thrown weapons. And I will bring chocolate for

the artisans. All y'all has to do is to show up in the morning, do the

demo stuff (fight, talk to people, etc) and have fun. I know that most

of y'all are still recovering from Pennsic, but Conner scheduled the

festival so that it wouldn't conflict with War and most of y'all

already have a subnburn.

Even if you can't be there, tell all of y'all's friends about the

event. Send them to http://www.amherstmuseum.org/scottish.htm.
 I will

be there to run fencing and I'll bring my TW gear as well, but I can't

do it myself. I need the help of the Barony. So, mark down the 21st of

August on your calendar and come on out. Don't just do it for me;

don't just do it for the Barony; don't just do it for Jodi Foster. Do

it for Master Conner and the Amherst Museum!
