Flames are rising higher
as the coal gets shoveled
metal heats up quickly
pounded by the hammer
edges forming keener
blades for gone a viking
raid the foreign village
bringing back the plunder
warrior rides the ship now
family torn asunder
youth holds fathers blade
flames rise up around him
metal is the weakness
precious gold and silver

Well... I was thinking to attempt a Skaldic poem and I have managed
the six syllables in each line, but I think I missed a few of the
finer points... <sigh> I looked up Skaldic verse and just realized how
very much more there is to it.... Oh well... still a neat bit of
poetry... <G>
