>While I realize how special a Coronation is to the incoming royalty and how emotional this decision can become, I would politely >suggest that a Coronation is NOT a wedding. It is a public ceremony intended to show the continuation of the Crown & Kingdom. >Is such, it belongs on the public roster & should move around the Kingdom, as in the rotation.

As Her Majesty said, No coronation is not a wedding. But anyone involved in one can say it’s a close second. For some it is the culmination of a person 's SCA career and something they may never have the opportunity to do again. When you are Royalty you spend eleven months attending events not just for yourself but for the people. The travel is part of the job and a duty that brings its own rewards. At the time of our Coronation Countess Ilish was 8 1/2 month pregnant. I'm very glad we had the ability to choose our site.

It does not seem like much to ask to have one event, the event you become the King and Queen of Aethelmearc to be in a place of your choosing with all the other events that are chosen for you.
