Once again I'd like to remind everyone of the site change for the Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins.  The event flyer, with the new address & directions, is included below.  I've also included the menu for the feast being planned by Baron Oeric LeStrange.  This information can also be found on our website, www.delftwood.org.

The Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins - CHANGE OF VENUE

Barony of Delftwood, Syracuse NY

February 7th, 2009

Come with us and tumble down the Tunnel of Time from the beautiful Barony of Delftwood in Syracuse NY, into the streets of medieval Siracusa in Sicily! The Feast of the Seven Deadly Sins will make its' appearance on Saturday, February 7th, 2009, within the Ukrainian National Club, 125 Washington St, Auburn NY, 13021. Doors will open at 9:00a.m. and close promptly at 11:00 p.m. 

Seek advice from il Padrino and his merry troupe of buskers known as the Sins! Enjoy a special Sicilian-inspired feast! Rejoice in the Den of Iniquity (over 18 only) and take part in the "Fabulous Hat Contest" or our Arts and Sciences Competition. This year's theme: The 7 Deadly Sins in Any Media (except alcoholic, please). As always, rapier play is encouraged with a tournament for all comers, and our Baronial Championship to be decided! Keep in mind that we will have a Bardic competition, and select our Baronial Bardic Champion as well. The site is damp, however , ALL alcohol must be purchased in the UNC Bar (Sorry, only one this year!). This site is Handicap Accessible. Only enclosed flames are allowed at feast.

Merchants are always welcome, our liaison is Lady Fenris McGill ( ladyfenris at verizon.net ), please contact her before January 23rd, as space is limited. (Tables are available on site.)

Costs for this day of sinful merriment are $5.00 for the day, plus $8.00 for Feast. (12 and under, half price, babes-in-arms are free). Reservations may be sent to our tollner, Baron Cyneric Drakenheorte (James Lienhart), at Barony of Delftwood, P.O.Box 6694, Syracuse NY 13217. (Checks made payable to "SCA - Barony of Delftwood") Feast reservations must be in by February 2nd, 2009. If you are coming from Canada, please contact the Tollner at exchequer at delftwood.org ,before sending your reservation.

The only reservation is a paid reservation.

Take your best route to I-90 exit #40 at Weedsport, follow Hwy 34 thru Weedsport to Auburn. Turn right onto Cottage St, follow Cottage St to Washington St. The Ukrainian Club is on the corner of Cottage and Washington. Parking is behind the building off Cottage St.







Here is the menu planned for Seven Deadlies:

FIRST COURSE:
MACCU (Fava Bean Soup)
Ingredients: fava beans, water, fennel, salt, pepper, olive oil.

SECOND COURSE:
PASTA CON SALSA DI ACCIUGHE SALATE (Pasta with Salted Anchovy Sauce) -- Kalamata olives are being substituted for the anchovies
Ingredients: dried currants, fennel, spaghetti, garlic, parsley, olive oil, pine nuts, kalamata olives, oregano, breadcrumbs.

THIRD COURSE:
ASSORTED FRUIT

FOURTH COURSE:
CUSCUS (Sicilian Couscous)
Ingredients: couscous, water

FIFTH COURSE:
GRANITAS (Sorbet) -- I believe there will be an almond one and a fruit one.

SIXTH COURSE:
FEGATO AI SETTE CANNOLI (Sette Cannoli's Liver) -- although it says liver, it really doesn't contain any. It's a vegetable dish.
Ingredients: winter squash, olive oil, garlic, mint leaves, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon

FARSUMAGRU (Braised Meat Roll)
Ingredients: beef, ground beef, eggs, pecorino cheese, baby peas, salt, pepper, salted pork, mozzarella cheese, onion, parsley, prosciutto, olive oil, lard, red wine, tomato paste, bay leaf, water.

SEVENTH COURSE:
FENNEL

EIGHTH COURSE:
RISO NERO (Black Rice)
Ingredients: rice, milk, cocoa, sugar, cinnamon.

PASTICCIOTTO (Plump Pasty)
Ingredients: cornstarch, milk, sugar, vanilla, semi-sweet chocolate, ricotta, flour, sugar, eggs, cinnamon.
