While I like the concept of being able to pay once and be a "lifetime" member, I am always suspicious of those types of offers being recinded when organizational costs increase.

Does anyone else remember buying a "lifetime membership" at a video rental place when rental stores started up in the 80s/90s?? Those seemed like a great deal at the time and both of the ones that I bought at the time were recinded within 5 years, IIRC.
