This is a missive from Baroness Gwyneth, the mastermind behind the Feast at
Blackston Mountain Investiture.

Feast Menu

I wanted to present foods that the explorers and the early settlers of the
New World might have eaten. I do understand that many of these dishes did
not make it onto the Western European table but could have been eaten by
Europeans in the New World during the SCA period.
(This menu may change slightly but the ingredients will stay the same.)

Caribe

El Moros y Christos ( Black Beans and Rice)
Mofongo (Mashed roasted plantains with cracklings)
Pollo de Caribe (stewed chicken with annatto and tomato)
Pina y guanos (Pineapple and sweet bananas)

America de Sur

Pavo con mole negro (Turkey with a sauce made of pablado and Anaheim
peppers)
Papas (potatoes)
Tortillas de maize
Ensalada de jitomate (a type of salsa)
Mayan Hot Cocoa

North America

Anasazi and pinto beans with hominy and green chilies
Journey cakes (a Native American corn bread)
Cranberries
Pumpkin Custard
