Good Gentles -
Now that Crown Tourney's excitement is over, I wish to turn your
attention to our fair Kingdom's next wonderful Kingdom level event:
AEcademy!
To that end I need to inform you that there was a typo in the event
announcement that is printed in the May issue of AESTEL. The address
for the reservations' clerk is missing a digit. So I am inserting the
announcement, in it's entirety and with the correct mailing address
herewith:
"Æthelmearc Spring Academy
June 20-22, Shire of Coppertree (Brookfield, NY)
On June 20-22, Æthelmearc Spring Æcademy will be held at the spacious
and comfortable Madison County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds Road (no
street number), Brookfield, NY 13314, in the Shire of Coppertree.
This site is approximately 25 miles due south of Utica, NY.
One and all are invited to enjoy a weekend where you may expand your
knowledge and hone your skills and no one will walk away hungry! A
wide variety of classes, from bardic talents, sewing arts, and
fighting, are in the works. Artisans, bring your messiest crafts, for
we can accommodate them on our spacious grounds. Didst thou want to
dye? To cook outdoors? To work on metal, on a forge? To try your
siege craft? To brew, to run your hounds on scent trails, or even to
work on equestrian skills? Stables are available for an additional
fee of $20 for the weekend; you must provide proof of negative
Coggins test and pre-register. There is an enclosed paddock for
turning out your horses. These and many other assorted arts will be
available for you to explore.
That said, we need teachers to teach! All are welcome to sign up to
teach a class(es); please go to the Æcademy website to register as a
teacher for the Æcademy:
http://www.aecademy.org/registration/index.php. Or you may contact
the Chancellor of the Æcademy, THL Juliana Delamere, at
deb at debrahofer.com.

roofed pavilion for protection from sun or rain. We also have a

Fees for camping are $25 per person. The day fee for Saturday is $15.
Fees are half price for 12 and under. There will be an additional $3
non-member surcharge. Please, we need to have pre-registrations for
the event so that we may plan on feeding you sufficiently! Send your

Road, Camden, NY 13316, 315- 245-3596 before 10 PM.) Make checks
payable to SCA-Shire of Coppertree.
DIRECTIONS: From East and West, take I-90 to Exit 31 (Utica, NY).
Follow signs to Route 8 south and then follow Route 8 south until you
cross Route 20. Go approximately another 4 miles and watch for signs
for a right turn to Brookfield and Fair Grounds. Turn right onto the
Skaneateles Turnpike and follow it 3-4 miles to Brookfield; watch for
a right turn onto Fairgrounds Road, which leads you directly to the
site.
There is an alternate route directly from Route 20 that is flatter
and easier for horse trailers. Contact the autocrat if you want these
alternate directions."
The June AESTEL will have the corrected announcement. If anyone has
any questions about the event please contact the Autocrats.
