The Great Pennsic War draws near. Are your troops ready? Join us
for Myrkfaelinn's Annual Summer War Practice. This year we shall be
returning to many people's favorite location - Camp Barton! Features
of this site include the ability to hold epic battles beneath
majestic waterfalls, swimming in gorgeous Cayuga Lake, and just an
all around spectacular atmosphere.
Of course there will be armoured melee, as well as combat archery,
fencing melees, target archery and thrown weapons. For those less
inclined to combat, there will be an A&S competition determined by
populace choice with a special category for children. You may also
enjoy the comfort of the great hall and the great outdoors.
This will be a camping event at Camp Barton Boy Scout Camp (Frontenac
Rd, Trumansburg, NY) so bring your tent! The site is not noted as
being very handicapped-accessible, though the restrooms are. Shower
facilities are available. The site is dry and no pets are allowed
except for guide dogs.
The site opens at 6:00pm on Friday, June 6th and those who have not
cleared out by noon on Sunday, the 8th will be pressganged into the
cleaning crews. A sideboard lunch on Saturday is included in your
site fee. Grills and firepits will be available for the cooking of
your supper.
Adult pricing is $10, children 6-17 years of age are $5, and children
5 and under are free. The $3 Non-Member Surcharge applies to all
guests who cannot provide proof of membership. The only good
reservation is a paid reservation, so make your checks out to SCA
Inc.-Dominion of Myrkfaelinn and send them to the autocrat. The
autocrat is Iain mac an Bhaird (Jonthan Baird, 1439 East Shore Dr,
Ithaca, NY 14850, 607-277-2140 no calls after 9pm,
iain at tigerfire.net) and he will be happy to address any of your
questions regarding this event.
Merchants are welcome, but must provide their own tables and will be outdoors.
