[SCA-AE] ANNOUNCE: Policy Ruling, Effective Immediately from the Society Seneschal

In the Midrealm, or at least every event I've attended in the Oaken Region,
it is so common to sign the waiver with or without a blue card, that it's
not something most question anymore. In my opinion, as it has been since I
got a membership in 2005, the only difference between members and
non-members is the NMS. Everyone is still asked to sign the waiver,
regardless of membership. Like other rights/privileges in the mundane world,
I don't know that anyone notices it. I for one, would rather not trouble
the good gentles working Troll who have a line backed up behind me by
causing a stink about it. Though I have wondered what good the blue card
was, other than to be able to hold an office, if we're still all signing
waivers at the door.

Just my 2 cents worth, and some insight into why the ruling may have been
handed down. I'll assume that if it's happened at every event I've attended
in almost 3 years, I'd say it happens elsewhere.

As for my part, I know one canton in the Mid who will be complying, as this
has been passed on already, and I know our seneschal has no desire to cross
any of her superiors, especially not the society seneschal...and I should
know her well enough, I've lived with her for much of the 26 years since her
birth. :)

In Service to the Dream,
Cat
