Baron Byron asked:
>>I am wondering what constitutes a "warranted youth officer". I have
>>supervised youth A&S activities at events in the past, but I do not
recall >>ever having been "warranted" in a formal way.
Times, they are a changin'!
Warranted Youth Officer is someone who applies to the Kingdom Youth
Officer (or Marshal) to directly supervise youth-specific activities.
These people will receive background checks and be warranted as
officers.
Baron Byron also asked:
>>Should everyone supervising youth activities fall into this category?
Do >>all of these people need to be registered with an appropriate
Baronial >>Minister of Youth? What if that position is unfilled; does
that prevent >>us from holding youth activities at events?
If you are holding Youth-specific activities, someone with a background
check must be present to supervise. The two-deep rule must ALWAYS be
followed if youth are present. If the activity is youth-specific, you
need someone with a check. The only people who are receiving checks are
warranted officers. SO.... If you want to volunteer to RUN
youth-specific activities you should speak to your Regional or Kingdom
Youth Officer to receive an at-large warrant and get your background
check. (There will be reporting involved. You will be an officer.
I've seen the forms, they are not awful.)
If you want to volunteer to HELP WITH youth-specific activities, you
must also have a warranted youth officer with the background check
present. Not everyone who helps needs a check as long as there is at
least one person with a check present at all times during youth-specific
activities.
Let me know if there are more questions!
