Unto the populace of Æthelmearc do Duncan and Ilish, King and Queen of these Sylvan Lands send greetings and well wishes on this day. As many of you know, there has been some concern of late concerning one of Our proposals for Our upcoming Curia regarding the Office of the Sylvan Signet. During Our Reign We instituted the position of “Docket Signet”. Given the success of this pilot program and the positive commentary We received, it was Our thought to make this option available for subsequent Royalty, which is why We proposed to include it in Kingdom Law. Since posting the discussion topics for Our Curia, We have received a great deal of feedback on this topic. Some has been positive. Some has been negative. However, we have also received input noting that there is currently nothing in our laws or traditions to prevent future Royalty or future Signets from having a Deputy Docket (or any other deputy) just as We(and other Crowns and Officers) have done. As such, there is no need toadd verbage to the Kingdom laws to allow that which is already allowed. After much discussion it is Our intention to drop the following from our Curia Agenda: “Proposal for creation of new office of Docket Signet which purpose would be handle royal docket.” We would be happy to share Our positive experience with any future Crown or Signet, and We thank Duchess Anna and the scribes of Æthelmearc for their help in making this a successful experiment! Duncan, Rex Ilish, Regina
