Also, access to museum collections, archives, assistance with  
copyright clearance and
similar things would be much more directed toward achieving the  
stated goals of the
organization. And, would be of much more in the way of being an  
actual benefit of
membership. Also, access to sports injury insurance might be an  
actual membership
benefit.

The proposed "benefits"  listed in the Original Question sound like  
selling the membership
list to me. I never think of having my contact information sold as a  
"benefit".
