[SCA-AE] Announce: Ice Dragon Merchants

Greetings All,

 

Sorry for the bandwidth and to those who may receive this one than once, but
I must get this message out to as many concerned as possible.  It seems
mundane life has yet again set out to cause trouble in the lives of SCAdians
in regards to events with merchants this year.  I have been informed by a
reliable source that those nasty people from the department of sales tax
enforcement may rear their ugly heads at the event.  If found in violation
of Sales Tax Law the tax people can either shut down the entire event or
just the merchant building  sending  the individual merchant or all packing
at their discretion, but either way both the organizers of the event and the
individual seller can be hit with fines. To prevent the chance of the
merchant building being shut down and sellers and/or the Rhydderich Hael
being subject to fines I am asking all merchants to provide a Sales Tax ID
Certificate number on their table/space reservation forms and bring a copy
of your cert with you if asked to show it.   You can apply for a temporary

in time to prevent headaches.  I am very sorry for this requirement, but we
do not need either all or part of an event as large as this one to be shut
down because of a lack of a piece of paper.  I was selling at a church craft
show once when I witnessed this happen to several crafters so I wouldn't be
surprised.
