I have heard at a Heralds' and Scribes' symposium, that the SCA record for
youngest herald is 9 yrs old.  Her last two predecessors were her mother and
father, so she literally grew into the office.  Other heralds had to handle
submissions money, and it was a shire, so no courts.  But, when she yelled
"OYAY!" you heard it! :D
