You find the most interesting things just trolling through the Louvre.

For anyone who may not know, the Louvre - YES, THAT ONE, has an online
database of their collection.

The museum site in English is

Look under "collections" Click on "databases"

There is the
Atlas: Database of Works on Display in the Louvre

And there is also
Joconde: Works in French Museums... ::maniacal cackling:: over 60
Museums with all their catalogs on-line. SCORE!

You do need some functional French to be able to use the databases,
but not much.
