Last night as I was playing in the yard with my kids, they were so very
kind to point out to me the location of two spiders. I've got a severe
case of arachnophobia, you see. If you've ever wanted to see me running
at top speed screaming like a girl, just show me a live, moving spider.
These two spiders are not movers, though. They (thankfully) just hang
there in their webs. The one is of the brown/gray striped variety I've
killed countless numbers of. The other, how ever is something I've not
seen before. I took pictures of the strange one and was attempting to ID
it on the internet but just looking at the photos is too much...
It has long black legs ending in what look like sharp claws. As it hangs
in it's web, it has it legs close together so that from a distance it
looks like it only has 4 legs. The body is bulbous, yellow with an
interesting white stripes and black oval/dots pattern. It has obvious
hair on its body (thanks to my 5MP camera...) and legs, the body hair
appears to be white and the leg hair looks black.
I'm getting the heebie-jeebies looking at this picture. I took it high
resolution, so the file it upwards of 5 MB, so I uploaded it to my
photobucket:

Inquiring minds wanna know... Well, *my* inquiring mind does. Are there
any bug lovers out there who might know what this thing is?
Thanks,
Meg the Mad!!!
