The first time I heard about the recall, the announcer said "RC2 Knights of the Sword toys" and I thought "Cool! Radio-controlled toy jousters!" But while they're movable, they arent' radio controlled, alas.

When I was a kid my brother and I had some pull-back-and-go plastic knights as well as archers that shot tiny arrows (immediately lost but easily replaceable with wooden matches*), a trebuchet that flung paper wads**) and a ballista that shot pencil-sized bolts***). The drawbridge and portcullis on the castle worked too. I still have most of it.

* "If I hear even a whisper about flaming arrows ..." -- Mom
** "No marbles, no pebbles, not even those German clay marbles. And if I hear even a whisper about ball bearings ..." -- Mom
*** "Don't even think about pencils." -- Mom

-- Signy
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.
