Unto the populace of AEthelmearc, greetings! 

I wrote this a while back and saved it up for posting
today. Happy Anniversary, Sylvan Kingdom!

AEthelmearc Day

Harvest is gathered as summer's end flies.
The crown in new peacetime turns its sweet eyes
On the rights of ascension, to rest and to play,
And the bright anniversary: AEthelmearc Day.
AEthelmearc Day, AEthelmearc Day,
The bright anniversary: AEthelmearc Day.

'Twas September twenty, thirty-two was the year
When folk from all 'round came to Delftwood to hear
And bear witness as Lucan, then King of the East
Toasted his brother and cousin at Feast
On AEthelmearc Day, AEthelmearc Day,
Our bright anniversary: AEthelmearc Day.

"No more are your princes our vassals," said he,
And henceforth the Sylvan lands, sovereign and free,
Have brought forth a line unbroken and strong
Of monarchs of prowess, worthy of song.
And AEthelmearc Day, AEthelmearc Day,
Our bright anniversary, AEthelmearc Day.

But Yngvar was first to put on the crown
And in that first court, this decree handed down:
"Let everyone celebrate, rejoice and say
September the twentieth: AEthelmearc Day!"
