The 12 Annual Siege of Glengary

September 21, 22 & 23 2007

Shire of Sylvan Glen (Eastern panhandle of West Virginia)

Victoriously last fall, AEthelmearc met the Atlantian hordes on the field of battle in a grand quest to retrieve the talisman which bestows bounty and prosperity on our shire, may I say, even our fair Kingdom, “The Sylver Apple of Sylvan Glen”. We hoped for a respite from the long years struggle. But alas, all is not well on the borders of our fair shire. There are brigands or shall we say thieves along our borders. I have it on Atlantian authority that that these ner-do-wells do “not” come from the barony across the great river. Although there was some question about some missing items being held in that same Barony. 
We are calling for the brave and fearless defenders of AEthelmearc to come and help us repel these brigands, wherever they come from.
 Her Royal Majesty Rowan of Atlantia will be in attendance, to help protect Her interests.

The day’s activities will include a variety of martial activities; including heavy combat scenarios, youth combat, archery, (featuring the Atlantian Lochmere Arrow competition), thrown weapons, and fencing, (featuring the ever popular “Monte Carlo”). The Arts and Sciences for this year have a Harvest theme. The display will be a populace choice, so it would be a good time for developing artists to get feed back on their work. There will be classes and bardic activities. Saturday evening (Sept 22nd) there will be a feast for 90 done by the renowned, (if you watch the food network) television personality Master Huen Damebridge.

The site opens at 7:00PM on September 21st and closes at 4:00PM on Sept 23rd .

Prices are as follows:

Event:  Adult 16 and over: Camping $ 12.00, Day trip $ 8:00

           Children 6-15: Camping $ 6.00, Day trip $ 4.00

Feast: Adult 16 and over: $6.00, Children 6-15 $ 3.00.

Non member surcharge ($3.00) will be collected at the site.

**Note - there will not be a children’s point this year. Parents will need to supervise their children at all times. 

To reduce check in time and especially for those wishing to feast you are encouraged to pre-register by September 14, 2007.

When sending payment for a group, please include both SCA and mundane names of all attending along with the ages of the children.

Directions: Camp Frame 4-H Camp. Hedgesville, WV Take your best route to I-81, West Virginia. Take exit 16W in WV. This merges onto Route 9.  Follow route 9 through the town of Hedgesville, WV. Once you pass the Hedgesville Fire Department, it is approximately 3 miles to Camp Frame RD. Turn right on Camp Frame Rd, follow this road, staying to the right. Camp Frame is at the end of it.
