Hello, and good day!

As a lady who, whenever she gets the chance, enjoys
going to SCA demonstrations, I was wondering if you would be willing to inform
the members of the list serve of an event that is happening at California
University of PA. I apologize if this is against protocol.

The event is a commemoration of the 700th
anniversary of the arrest and trial of the Knights Templar. I know a lot
of the people I’ve met at the SCA would be very interesting in coming,
and it’s free. There will be Q A sessions with the speakers,
opportunities to see historically accurate sword play demonstrations and a display
of Friesian horses. I’ve included a small blurb below, and I would
be grateful if you would forward this to anyone in our area who would be
interested. I’m really proud of this event, and I want as many
people who might be interested as possible to have the opportunity to go.

Remembering the Templars: 700 years of History
and Myth, as this event is called, takes a look at the trial, dissolution and
the subsequent mythology of the Knights Templar. This all day event is free
and open to the public, and will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the
Cal U main campus. Malcolm Barber, University of Reading, will give a key
note address on the arrest, trial, and suppression of the Knights Templar, and
on subsequent myths about them; Constance Bouchard of the University of Akron
will speak on religious orders and on Medieval Chivalry; and Jochen Burgtorf of
California State University-Fullerton will discuss the general history of the
Templars. There will be sword fighting demonstrations and Friesian horses
on display. For more information, please visit us at: http://www.cup.edu/liberalarts/history/index.jsp?pageId=1580830010421185469262058
