Greetings to the Populace of the East from Their Royal Majesties King
Gryffith and Queen Aikaterine
   
  We would like to take a moment of your time to direct your attention to
several children's activities being held at Pennsic this year. These include
the Known World Children's Fete, the East Kingdom Youth Tournament, the
Youth Arts and Sciences Exhibition, a Children's Plague Quest, the East
Kingdom Teen Party, and a myriad of other activities. 
  We are including here specific information that We have been asked to
announce about several activities. There are so many activities it would
take forever to list them all here, so look no further than the youth
activity schedule on the Pennsic website, at

     The Children's Plague Quest, to be held by the Circus of the Damned, is
a repeat of last year's wonderful quest for the children of the Known World
to rid Pennsic of a nasty plague of rats. Children who participate in the
quest will receive a prize and Royal Commendation for their efforts.

  
             From the Circus:
  " We encourage any parents who are bringing children to the Pennsic War to
keep a sharp eye on the Pennsic Independent on the Monday of War Week
(August 6th).  A tale of a "great danger" threatening the populace of the
Pennsic War should appear and describe this year's "quarry" for the
Children's grand hunt in the Marketplace and Food Court on Tuesday, August
7th.  Posters will also be hung throughout the Market, Food Court,
Information Point, and at Youth Point, letting them know what to look for,
as the creatures "run amok" in the streets on Tuesday.
   
  And, please pass on the word that, should a child fail to capture one of
the required "critters" in the Marketplace on Tuesday, that the members of
Circus of the Damned are wonderful entertainers...but horrible zoo-keepers.
   
  We'll need lots of eyes scanning the area in and around the Children's
Fete in the Barn on Wednesday from 1-4pm, to round up any "escapees".  If
last year's "Plague Mouse Quarantine Debacle" is any indication of our
effectiveness of keeping critters corralled, then every child who attends
the Fete should be able to locate a critter and turn it in for a prize and a
Royal Commendation."
  
    
     In recently speaking with HRM Arielle of Atlantia, volunteers are still
in need for the Known World Children's Fete to be held at Pennsic on
Wednesday, August 8th from 1 to 4 pm. Help with set-up, clean up, and
general assistance is needed. Please look on the Pennsic website for more

     The East Kingdom Teen Party will be held on Monday August 6th in East
Kingdom Royal from 8 pm until 11 pm. Donations of food, beverages,
entertainment, and chaperones are greatly appreciated. Please contact Baron
Christopher Serpentius at christopherallenbailey at yahoo.com if you can help.

    
     Please also go out and support the children's efforts in youth combat
at the East Kingdom Youth Tournament to be held on Tuesday, August 7th at 3
pm, as well as Youth Archery shoots almost every day and the Youth Arts and
Sciences Exhibition on Tuesday.

  
  We encourage all who are willing and able to help assist with these
activities and support Our youth community. Nothing means more to a child
than to see the support of an adult that he or she loves and admires.
