It is my honor to forward these Summers End Sicilian Festival notes from Lady Isolda who is organizing this spectacular A&S competition. There are link to samples at the bottom.


"A unique Arts and Sciences Competition will be held by Lady Isolda filia Georgii.  Based on the Parade of the Giants that is held in Sicily every year, entrants are simply asked to make a Giant to Parade.  See the links below for an example of the ones created in Sicily, but let your imagination run wild!  (Some of you may also have seen the sample Giant that Lady Isolda created and paraded around at the Brass Ring Thing.) There are two criteria:  1.  It must be a giant. (Approx 7 ft tall when on the floor).  2. Entrants must display their giant through carrying it though the festival during the day and participating in the Parade to be held at Summer's End a Sicilian Festival during feast where the winner will be picked. Since we are most interested in a spectacular parade, it matters not whether groups or individuals do make creations as long as groups are willing to share the prize among themselves.  Entrants are welcome to submit documentation, but there is no need to do so.  This should be fun and no worries!
