[SCA-AE] Update

Greetings to all the wonderful people of Aethelmearc from Elisabeth 
Johanna von der Flossenburg

First of all please let me thank you!  I was overwhelmed by the phone 
calls, well wishes, cards, flowers, visits and offers for help.  I am 
truely blessed for being a part of this Kingdom!

Baronesse Ekat and Lady Biotta, both from the Hael informed this list 
of my having been involved in a vehicle accident, literally within 
hours from when it happened.

I cannot tell you much for it did happen so fast that I literally did 
not know what hit me until it was over. my PT Cruiser was a brave 
little protector and did a marvelous job protecting me, even a the cost 
of its own life.  Yes we will buy another PT Cruiser!

Two young men in a Trail Blazer I guess were feewling their oats and 
tempted fate just a little too much and found out that a Trail Blazer 
cannot outrun other traffic its crossing, that even a Trail Blazer has 
to yield to stop signs and mostly Trail Blazers cannot fly.

After the being hit, hearing the front end clattering down the highway, 
airbags surrounding me completely and the car finally stopping, 
neighbors on whose properties the Trail Blazer and the Cruiser landed 
helped all of us out of the cars.  Also at the time I thought I was the 
least hurt,  especially since I could exit my car very normally through 
the door, yes it was steaming from both radiator and airbags and the 
neighbors thought it was going to blow up, the two young men were 
pulling themselves out through their windows and their trail blazer was 
upsidedown.  It really was very sureal.  Kind of something you see in a 
commercial against drunk driving or speeding., just nothing that would 
be ha[ppening to yourself.

The adjacent neighbors all came with first aid kits, blankets, cell 
phones, etc to check us out.  We all said we were fine, but were 
informed that police and ambulance were called.  After I called Harold 
 from a borrowed phone, my own was somewhere within my car along with my 
eyeglasses, without which I do not see so well, I sat down in the grass 
and noticed it hurt a bit to breeze.  I immediately figured I had 
bruised ribs again like in December.  Well as soon as the ambulance was 
on sight they grabbed me, checked me and off I was to ECMC.  Trauma 
Unit!  After Xrays, Cat Scans, lots of pocking and pricking I was 
informed they would have to perform emergency surgery since I have a 
colapsed lung, and no their is not time to call my husband, and yes I 
just have t trust the doctors and sign a consent form even if I cannot 
read it, there is no time.  Yes, it will hurt, yes I will be the guest 
of this wonderful insitution for a while, and I better sign RIGHT NOW!

You can imagine I was not a happy camper.  My cloth had all been cut 
off me including my most favourite jeans as well as undergarments.  AND 
THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO ASK ME WHAT I WOULD LIKE DONE WITH THE RAGS?  
They could not make one straight cut!  I almost got up from the board 
and showed them how to cut cloths correctly...... In my birthday suit 
just wearing a neck brace...... Of course that did not happen.  No, 
they would not let me take over the hospital!

When I awoke on Wednesdaqy morning the phone calls started coming in 
with Lady Biotta asking me for permission to post information.  Well 
and then the outporing of generosity only Aethelmercians can do 
started.  I thought I was in a wonderful garden sourrounded by love and 
friendship.  And believe me even the nurses commentated.  Yes, I am 
truely blessed!
And I would like to thank you with all my heart.  I am sure that all 
the love and great thoughts extanded to me helped my recovery and my 
release.  It will take a little bit to be completely whole again, but I 
am still surronded by the most precious thing: FRIENDSHIP!
