This came from another source, via Duchess Tessa. Our prayers are with you and Bearengaer's family, Janette.
"I'm posting this publically, since this said to?spread the word.? Can someone post this on the AE list?? I would imagine it would be really hard for her to type/post this right now.?? I wish we could do something to help her, thru this time, but I can't think of anything :(?? I was really hoping for better news. I think?I'm really starting to dislike Mondays.?
"I've been told and asked to spread the information that Bearengaer will
not recover. Brain scans show signs of very heavy damage due to the
prolonged period without oxygen. He has been taken off breath support
and dialysis and remains in a coma. It is expected that he will soon
die, but we can't say when. His funeral in Erie, PA will be a fully
SCA funeral and he will be buried with his prize possessions as a
Viking. All who knew him or cared about him are welcome to attend, but
we cannot yet say when, I'm sure you understand why. I don't have an
address for the funeral. This information came to me from Viscountess
Nige of the Cleftlands who is a long-time friend and was once his
wife. She received the information from Janette."

Subject: [SCA-AE] Sad News
It is with a heavy heart that I report that Earl Sir Bearengaer suffered an
unexpected heart attack Monday and has been in a coma ever since. If he
does not show some signs of waking up tomorrow, they will start talking
about taking him off life support. While a miracle would be just fine with
me, I am not hopeful. If anyone lives near enough to want to visit, he is
in St. Vincent Hospital in Erie.
