Gwendolyn, Fridrikr, Arianna, Morgan, Kazi, Caryl, and
others....

Thank you for your welcoming notes and comments and if
it was any of you that made me feel that way that
wasn't really what I was thinking of when I wrote my
original note. Most of you I wouldn't know. Fridrikr
being the exception and I miss singing with him & Finn
the Fool.

Please don't stop teaching as eventually I'll make a
class on it! I've been to a few classes at probably
three ravens but beyond being in chorus in High school
and Choir in college for a time I'm not a trained
voice at all. My memory stinks and I can not play any
instruments (well). But I do love singing a song that
brings a smile to an audience even if it is just one.
Lately that has been for the two little girls in my
life at bedtime and in the car and tend s to not be
even filks! They really don't like me filking nursery
songs and rhymes. Funny that?

My first experince singing in front of a crowd would
have been helping to lead a Pub sing at an early demo
that was a lot of fun. The next time would ahve been
in front of the entire feast hall at my very first
REAL full fledged SCA event! YIKES! Talk about
intimidating! We were received well enough though even
though we did interupt the feast somewhat. We kept our
performance to about 3 songs if I remember? Maybe a
few more? Finn, help me out here!

Since then, I've been part of organizing Bardic before
Blackwater was even incipient and had the joy of
singing with and listening to Lady Maeve & Lady Emma
along with Lord Finn Folhare and a few other talents
locally. Hmmm? Seems we've not had a good bardic since
then? Maybe that is part of my problem? Even our
events haven't had much in teh way of bardic? Of
course when all the bards are working the event it's
tough to take a moment to cathc your breath but then
sometimes bards are better when they are out of breath
LOL!

Many thanks for the encouragement! Being stuck smack
dab in the middle of the kingdom has it's advantages
and disadvantages. Travel in this weather being one of
them!

Respectfully!

Valentine Lyme
