The SCA song I hear that is overplayed worse than "You Light Up My Life" by 
Debbie Boone is an AEthelmearc song by THL Gwendolyn the Graceful. I don't 
remember the title of it, but goes something like "Scarlet -- follow the 
banner of Scarlet..." 
 
The song goes on and on and on and on -- and drags worse than a funeral 
dirge -- and yet it is often used during opening ceremonies at Pennsic for 
AEthelmearc to march in. (A march is typically in 4/4 time and "Scarlet" is 
in 6/8 time which makes it very hard to walk to.)
