    But the sequels I mentioned would star Grendl (the nice mouse) rather 
than Grendel (the scary monster)! (Except for the last one -- "Grendl vs. 
Grendel", in which the scary monster (Grendel)would show up, though I 
suppose Beowulf would have to be the one to kill Grendel (the scary 
monster), while _not_  killing Grendl (the cute mouse)!):)

    You're quite right about that!  The old sagas didn't have the same 
supervillain showing up for countless sequels! It is very debatable whether 
this is the better approach! Personally, I kind of like the sagas actually 
achieving some closure, even at the expense of bards having fewer tales to 
spin...:)

    And here I thought "they were called the 'Dark Ages' because there were 
so many Knights back then"! :)
