[SCA-AE] Newcomers - Academy of St Julian Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands

Greetings from the Chatelaine of the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands,

I've responded privately to the concerns in both posts listed below
but I would like to extend an invitation to any newcomers in the
Greater Pittsburgh area to attend the Academy of St Julian on Saturday
February 17th at the University of Pittsburgh Student Union. This is a
good opportunity to get to know people in the classes in the afternoon
and at the ball in the evening. I can arrange to have guides for you
if that is something that you want. Please let me know if there is
anything I can do to help your transition into the Society to be fun
and friendly.

Something else I have had kicking around in the back of my head is a
sort of round table discussion for newcomers where you could come one
evening and just talk to people and ask any question that you like and
meet other newcomers. If this is something that you might be
interested in, please email me at chatelaine at debatablelands.org and I
can set it up.

I still vividly remember attending my first A&S night and my first
Baronial event(it was only 1 1/2 years ago!) so I completely
understand the initial trepidation and shyness that comes with the
territory. I hope that you will give the Barony another chance until
you find your niche.
