Subject: Re: [SCA-AE] The use of "Troll"
A lot of people have chimed in on this topic stating some thing about
"all the years I've been in the SCA", well, I think of myself as a
newbie so here's my thoughts.
I first heard about the SCA in a story. Yup, a work of fiction. The main
character, Lizzy, was in the SCA and the story unfolded at different
events over the year. In the opening chapter Lizzy is talking to a
friend about "Troll" and that just hooked me. I had no clue what
"Twelfth Night" was or Pennsic or rattan or Kingdoms or any of it, but
here were two girls talking about having to "Troll in" and I GOT IT!!!
I have only attended a few events (okay, three), but I get a rush when I
see the "troll" sign. 'Cus troll is where the fun starts, and it was the
first thing that made me want to know more about the SCA.
