<<We push for authentic armour. We push for authentic
clothes. We push for authentic names, arms, and even
for authentic furniture in camps in some cases.
Why shouldn't we push for more period correct
terminology for those positions we have in the
society. Especially those positions which are deal
with the newer members of the society. >>
Dear Snaebjorn,
You use the word "push". That is exactly what raises my heckles enough to
respond to your post. There has been way too much "pushing" in the SCA in
the last few years. If you want to quietly introduce an acceptable
substitute and see if takes, great. But push? I am not here to be pushed,
baby. I am here to have fun. Life is short; play hard and learn in the
process, not "instead of".
And I agree with Keran on "tollner". I tried it out for size, and it really
feels very institutional. That crack about the NJ Turnpike feels right on.
Gatekeeper is a bit long. I will stick with troll for now. However, I will
take care not to address you as such.
With best regards, and good night,
Kazi
