Just my 2 cents here;
  I don't have any kids and I don't work with kids in the mundane world, however, this is more of the principle of how this country is going. Being on the principle argument, I would not get a background check to work with minors at a volunteer event, I just wouldn't volunteer to run minor activities and limit my embroidery classes to 18 and older if it became necessary. And before anyone asks, I would pass any background checks to teach in Pa, or for other jobs. Yes for a lot of jobs, background checks need to be done including for the military (as my husband has to submit a full family info for his security clearance every 10 years), for people working with kids, for govt jobs, etc. But it seems to be the trend that to do something or to own a certain item, you must go through a background check or licensing process.
  Yes, the background check my discourage people with criminal offense to minors, but it may also discourage honest people who are willing to work with minors who would never assault a minor. Even if the person clears a background check, they may have done criminal acts against minors and never been caught.
  Just my 2 cents on the issue.

  Evening all,

At this point there a re a lot of unanswered questions. As far as the
repetitiveness I don't know if it would be allowed. As a teacher I too have
had the fingerprint clearance but had to do it again when I became a foster
parent, same forms, same people checked it (State & FBI).

As I get more information I will certainly pass it along,

Marguerite
