[SCA-AE] ANNOUNCE: Background checks for youth.

I had one done when I signed up to substitute teach (a "profession" I
haven't had to fall back on...yet...and hopefully never, but that's
ANOTHER story). Far as I can tell, I passed.
However, that background check will be disregarded by the SCA. If I
want to be a youth-services officer (nice phrase?), I'll have to have
another check that will be good for two years.
At least, that what I understand to be true. Am I wrong? Marguerite?

Yes, PA changed their School Code so that all new school employees or
those working directly with children in a school
like volunteers or bus drivers must have a FBI Criminal Background check
done. This is in addition to the requirement
to have a PA Criminal Background check done by the State Police and a
Child Abuse Clearance done by the Welfare Dept.
This took effect April 1st.
