Greetings Seneschal;
At Gulf Wars this past month, I lost something very dear to me. It is a
long (8"-9"), very sharp skinning knife with an engraved blade ("The
Original Buffalo Skinner"). It has a stag horn handle and no sheath...It
was still attached to my belt.
Let me explain..I was the Children's and Beginner Archery Marshal at Gulf
Wars but i was late because my wife had emergency surgery the Wednesday
before we were to leave. I had all the material for the range as well as
our "stuff". We arrived on Tuesday and proceeded to unpack. Wednesday I
moved my truck to the parking lot in garb with my knife on my hip. After
parking my truck, I walked back to camp through the merchants area. At camp
someone ask if i had a knife for the sheath on my hip. WE, my daughter and
i, backtracked to the truck with no luck. It must have gotten caught on the
seat and unsnarled the loop. I checked with security everyday( They knew me
on sight by the end of the week) and it did not show up.
This knife is very precious to me. It has been with me for 21 years and was
given to me by my Boy Scouts in Wichita Falls, Texas. it has cleaned many
critters and i get flash backs to those young boys(men now) every time I
used it.
Please spread the word, I sure miss this item. I pray some noble soul has
found it and did not know who to turn it in to.
