Being the Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Christopher and
Morgen, King and Queen of Æthelmearc. Court held September 23, AS 41
(2006) at Siege of Glengary in Their Shire of Sylvan Glen. Giulietta
da Venezia, Reporting Herald, with the assistance of Marianna Molin
di Salerno.
Their Majesties invested Gaston de Barre as a member of Her Majesty's
Guard, and received his Oath of Fealty.
Their Majesties invested Yang Su Gyong as a member of Her Majesty's
Guard, and received her Oath of Fealty.
Their Majesties recognized Sir Maghnus an Chnoic na n'Iora as the
Chivalry Advisor to Her Majesty's Guard.
Representatives of the Shire of Sylvan Glen presented gifts to Their
Majesties.
Winners of the day's activities were announced:
Arts and Sciences:
Youth Arts and Sciences: Genevieve Rochefort (ages 7 & under);
Annika Rochefort (ages 8-12); and Mathias syn Kotok (ages 13-17).
Poetry: Stephen de Spencer (Atlantia), winner; Marija Kotokova,
2nd. Best use of Latin: Briana na Sealtacht.
Embroidery: Etain Eame.
Myths and Legends in Any Medium: Katherine O'Carroll (Atlantia),
winner; Rabenwald Metalsmything, 2nd.
Rapier Tournament:
Best fencer: Lady Katherine Vivans
Best non-fencer: Karona
Most gallant: Dona Jean
Youth Combat:
Division 1: Skylar; Division 2: Wyatt; Division 3: Ben.
Dagr Snaebjorn Bjarnarsson presented the Shire's traditional "spiffy"
awards to those gentles who inspire others to great deeds: Hrefna
Ulfvarinsdottir and Cynrig Wyn.
Dagr Snaebjorn Bjarnarsson was awarded arms for his service as youth
marshal, deputy exchequer, and generally useful gentleman. Scroll
scrivened by Hrefna in heppna Thorgrimsdottir and limned by Dorima de
Soto (Barony of Red Spears, Middle Kingdom).
Fiachna ni Tuaighe MacCennetig was made a Companion of the Keystone
in absentia for his service upon many thrown weapons ranges, for his
devotion to and promotion of the art of throwing weapons, and for his
composure and ability to thoughtfully resolve conflicts. Scroll by
Lady Anlaith ingen Trena.
Stefen von Baden was made a Companion of the Keystone in absentia for
his service as Seneschal of the Shire of Misty Highlands, and for his
ability to get things done. Scroll by Pomestnitsa Marija Kotokova.
Morien MacBain was made a Companion of the Cornelian in recognition
of his exemplary courtesy. Scroll scrivened by Lord Bjorn bunhauss
Olafsson and limned by Lady Juliana Delamere.
Their Majesties reaffirmed the appointment of Master Huen Damebrygge
as Royal Baker to the Crown of Æthelmearc, and expressed Their
delight in and desire for more of his fine baked goods, especially
cookies. They also presented him the scroll created for the occasion
of his initial appointment by Their predecessors, Malcolm and Tessa.
Scroll by Her Excellency, Daedra McBeth a Gryphon.
His Excellency, Llywelyn, Baron of Highland Foorde, Kingdom of
Atlantia, presented himself before Their Majesties. It being
determined that the armies of Æthelmearc were victorious in the
defense of our Shire of Sylvan Glen, His Excellency expressed his
delight that Their Majesties' armies were able to restore order to
the region and returned the Sylver Apple of Sylvan Glen to the Shire,
along with many lovely gifts and expressions of goodwill.
Their Majesties presented scrolls from previous events to the
following gentles: Etain Eame, Richard de Mercia, Morian McBain,
Gwilym ap Daffydd, Grimolfr Ormalfrsson, and Morgan Holte.
The Court of Their Majesties was closed.
