I found out the origin of the confusion. This device is for the Shire of Coeddu, and was registered in 2005 it appears. Does anyone know where this Shire is? (Just curious now...)

I'm confused. The arms of the College of Cour d'Or (My SCA Alma Mater, as it were) are "Or, two bendlets and in chief a laurel wreath sable". These are the current arms of the college.

There are ancient arms, which are "Or, a thistle, slipped and leaved, proper within a laurel wreath vert, all within a bordure sable, masoned Or". Those were changed precisely becuse it's quite a task to draw/paint/make anything with these arms. (And boy, do I know. A housemate and I actually made a banner for the college years ago.)

Neither have a tree, though!
