Greetings to all!
The September issue of the National Geographic has an article on shoes.
There is a really good photo of a 16th century child's shoe in it. It looks
like a mundane sensible shoe. Brown leather, enclosed top, and a perforated
design over the toes and instep. It's nice to know that buying an ordinary,
leather "sensible shoe" for a young child won't look out of place at an
event.
