I Am Not A Peer of this Society, as such things are adjudged. (Formal,
precedence-bearing, recognition runs to an AOA plus a Sable Crane of
Ansteorra.)
I am, however, a Bard in the ancient sense. As such, one tenet remains
above all others, now and forever:
we only truly live when we continue to learn, and in turn, teach.
Let us all put this behind us in the sense of a learning experience,
then.
Parallel quasi-academic side-note: I have no formal relationship to any
Peer, beyond informal friendship which may mean more than any
apprenticeship or other formal structure could instill. (At least not
in the regularly acknowledged hierarchic sense, anyway.) Does that make
me less or more likely to "run to" someone else when I'm uncertain of
how to resolve a MESS of my making? Probably -- but I also happen to be
stubbornly self-reliant about a fair number of things, recognize that
tendency, and try to compensate.
(I also have a number of acquaintances, friends, family, and
family-of-choice who *know* that they are expected to slap me upside the
haid-bone when I really need it. I am fortunate that I have acquired
some number of those persons here in Aethelmearc without losing those
back "home" in Ansteorra...)
Thank you for allowing me to learn even more here in the Sylvan Kingdom
