Niagara Celtic Festival Demo

 

Greetings folks,   The Niagara Celtic Festival demo on Saturday Sept. 16th from 10 am to dusk is a definite go- I?ve just met with the organizers about space and safety.  We have a lovely, shaded 60 x 60ft. area to use. We are against the edge of the lake so we can safely demonstrate thrown weapons.  We are not able to demo archery this time, but, those of you who come could take a good look at the grounds to see if there is a spot for it for next year.  This year perhaps a show of equipment and archers to talk to the public would be the best way to go.

 

We have plenty of space to demo fencing and fighting, ( no hot sun!) arts and sciences, calligraphy, fiber arts, carving, anything you wish to bring and display and talk to the public about.  If your items are larger, please consider bringing a table .This is a good fall recruitment demo that could turn into a fall free ! mini-event. (did I mention Free?!)  The organizers will provide security starting Friday night and we can start set up then.  We need to be available to the public from 10am till dusk on Saturday.  Site maps will be available at fight practice on Wednesday wherever we are.  The web-site (www.niagaraceltic.com) gives directions, however, I did not find them particularly helpful. So directions follow at the end.

 

So get your things together , come on up, it?s going to be a beautiful day to relax and socialize! It?s free!!  You don?t have to dress Celtic, but garb is a must (pirates are welcome!) Bring your chairs, bring your stuff, bring yourselves! There are public restrooms conveniently located, but bring hand sanitizer.  Since this is a festival there is food and water available for sale by private vendors.  Some of us will still bring our own as usual.

 

Directions:  Make your best way to Lockport via Rt 78 North follow all the way to Olcott. Go straight into Olcott until you come to the intersection with the statue in front of you.  Turn right at the statue, less than ? mile on the left is Krull Park ( same place as the Pirate festival for all you pirates!)  Please use the entrance for vendors and participants located just to the right ( as you are facing the pavilion) of the Main pavilion.  We are located toward the water, straight back from the public restrooms. ( big white building at the road)
