[SCA-AE] Lost and Found items in Barony of Endless Hills

Such a shame I never thought to put my arms on the doublet I made for my son, which he promptly lost at Blackstone Raid a couple of years ago! Of course, it never occurred to me that a small boy could possibly lose a green velvet doublet on a rainy/snowy weekend when he didn't have anything else to wear besides a shirt. Silly mother! What was I thinking. The worst part is that I never did manage to track it down throught the lost and found; although aparently it almost made it back to me by way of an event in the Bog almost a year later.

The sleeves would be too short for him now, but he's so skinny it would still fit through the body. Besides, I always thought it would make a great display piece for demos. Oh well, next time I'll know to put large "If found, please return to" labels inside his clothes.

Ironically, mugs and bowls are the things most likely to be marked with
heraldry and therefore the easiest to get back. I have a scroll carrier
made from cardboard and lined with fabric. I decided one day to decorate
it with my personal arms and the badge of my calligrapher's guild.

When a gentle got his AoA he made a remark about it being squashed in all
his gear on the way home. I gave him my scroll carrier along with my contact
information. I got it back about six months later... from a completely
different person! When I asked how they had gotten it, I discovered that
the original gentle passed it on to someone he thought would be heading
back my way, who passed it on to another friend, who passed it on, etc.
It had been through a dozen hands, but always on track because my guild badge
said where it belonged and my arms said who it belonged to!

Paint your arms/badge on everything you own!
