We had a similar one reported in the RIT alumni magazine (if I remember
correctly) - gentleman lost his RIT class ring during a camping trip out
west - it slipped off his finger in a river. Many years later, someone
actually found the ring and contacted the school to see about returning
it to it's owner. Again, school info, year of graduation, and the
person's initials on the ring helped to locate the owner.
Makes me hopeful that some day my IC class ring, lost by my cat in my
first apartment, may find it's way home to me : )
