Ladies fighting in crowns (was RE: [SCA-AE] Crown fighting questionsand a WNY storrm update)

In the years that I was an active rattan fighter I have always made a point 
to participate in Crown Tourney whenever possible. It is a great experience 
for any serious student of fighting.  It is a great way to gage your 
fighting ability, your comportment in a formal list, and a motivation to 
keep your harness and gear in style. In addition the competition and 
comrareity is second to none. I traveled extensively with Syr Mago, my 
knight, my squire brother Sir Cameron, & Mistress Berengaria  to crowns far 
& wide throughout the East Kingdom and then thru Aethelmearc. To me those 
were the best days of the SCA.
I echo Kazi's sentiments and I would encourage all fighters, regardless of 
gender, to participate in the pageantry and fun of crown tourney.
