I will note that most of pavilions did a pretty good job staying put on Saturday - some of them would have been better with some walls attached and staked too : ). According to Panther (who we consulted after almost losing our pavilion at Pennsic one year), if the walls are attached and at least the corners of the walls staked to the ground, the majority of their pavilions (marquis, etc.) will not budge during the worst Pennsic can throw at them. And I will say that our marquis made have "shushed" with the wind, but it never moved once we started doing this as a standard practice.
Now, if I could figure out a similar process for the sunshade : ) At least when ours blew down, it took no major damage (one tie ripped off but easily fixed).
